Why We Built This Site
Public access in Tennessee does not mean every record sits in one database. Carroll County's jail answers current-custody questions, the arresting agency holds its incident narrative, and the criminal clerks maintain charges and dispositions. TBI operates TORIS for statewide name checks, TDOC runs FOIL for felony custody or supervision, and TBI manages the registry. We collect the researched request steps, government links, fees, and contact details needed to choose among those channels.
